MOTION PICTURE CREDITS Camoin has served on feature films that have screened at Cannes, Toronto and Sundance serving as UPM for director Miles Joris-Peyrafitte’s AS YOU ARE, location manager for Jeremiah Zagar’s WE THE ANIMALS, James Franco’s THE PRETENDERS, and location scout for Derek Cianfrance’s THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES starring Bradley Cooper, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendez and on HBO Films Muhammad Ali’s Greatest Fight.
His screenplay Off The Menu attracted $1M in product integration and the attention of Hollywood veteran, Larry Jackson (former Sr VP studio executive in charge of production for Mystic Pizza, Silence of the Lambs).
On a CINEMATIC MISSION, as director of such short films as Ruler of Life, Crossing the Whitestone and Relax the latter made it’s Russian premiere in 2011 where Camoin was the sole American invited to an intensive 8-day producer’s lab. Upon returning,Camoin founded the non-profit Capital Cinema Cultural Exchange, Inc. which hosts the annual Northeast Filmmakers Lab. Camoin works closely with industry consultants and board members to establish strategic plans. Entering its 10th year, NEFL is a beneficiary to Albany Chefs Food & Wine Festival.
EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP As leader in independent film in northeastern NY, Camoin is founding member and former President of Upstate Independents Filmmakers Network, Inc. (1995-2000), the 25+ year old salon network of the Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers (AIVF) based in Albany, NY before it disbanded during Covid. Mike has appeared on WAMC’s public radio with Alan Chartock discussing all things independent motion pictures. Holding a Masters in Social Work from the State University of New York at Albany (1992), and a Bachelor of Arts from St. Bonaventure University (1988), as a filmmaker, Camoin studied directing, producing, fundraising and film distribution at intensive workshops over the past decades. Camoin is an FAA Certified Remote Pilot of Unmanned Aerial Systems (drone pilot) and resides with his wife, Linda, daughter, Isabelle and son, Jacob in Upstate, New York.
