FILMMAKER  Mike Camoin is best known for his documentary series on Adirondack culture: Inside the Blue Line, How to Make an Adirondack Packbasket which have screened in northeastern U.S. and Canadian television markets.  From the Mountaintop: The History of Adirondack Fire Towers now in development will complete the trilogy.  On a cinematic mission, Camoin is releasing Sallie Mae Not Chapter One in the documentary, Scared To Debt: America’s Student Loan Scam.  

MOTION PICTURES  In 2003, Camoin initiated talks leading to expansion of resources for motion pictures in upstate NY including the Capital-Saratoga Film Commission which then fostered New York’s first tax rebate program in response to runaway productions in the U.S.  His personal credits include location manager/production coordinator for feature films such as the 2018 Sundance winner We The Animals, 2016 Sundance Special Jury Prize winning As You Are, Paramount’s Ninja Turtles, The Place Beyond the Pines (location scout) starring Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper and Eva Mendes; Battle Under Orion, Marcom Visual Creation, Inc. (NYC/ Japan).  His work has also attracted the attention of Hollywood veteran producers to develop Camoin’s screenplay Off The Menu.   A director on such short films as Ruler of Life, Crossing the Whitestone and Relax the later made it’s Russian premiere in 2011 where Camoin was the sole American invited to an intensive 8-day producer’s lab. Upon returning to the US,Camoin founded the 501(c)3 non-profit Capital  Cinema Cultural Exchange, Inc. which hosts the annual Northeast Filmmakers Lab in upstate New York.  Camoin works closely with consultants and board members to establish strategic plans.  Entering its 8th year, NEFL is a 2020 beneficiary to Albany’s Wine & Dine Festival for the Arts.
