On the theatrical front, “Magic Mike” as he is nicknamed in upstate New York, is responsible for initiating conversations in 2003 that led to New York’s first tax rebate program in response to runaway productions in the U.S.; the closing scene for Derek Cianfrance’s THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES, HBOFilms MUHAMMAD ALI’S GREATEST FIGHT (2013 Cannes Premiere), served as UPM for 2016 Sundance Special Jury Prize winning AS YOU ARE, locations manager for WE THE ANIMALS (nominated for 5 Indie Spirit Awards), James Franco’s PRETENDERS, and more recently locations on Alice Wu’s THE HALF OF IT on Netflix. Videos For Change emerged from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Incubator Center in Troy, NY (2002-2006) and is presently located in Albany County. Commercial clients include Bona Venture Stables, Richer Team Hanna Real Estate, CheckerAir, Surya Medical Care and New York State Agencies.
In his own cinematic vision, Mike Camoin has successfully distributed documentary and independent sales and distribution. Such works as the INSIDE THE BLUE LINE series on the diminishing Adirondack culture have aired on PBS and Canadian television. THE BATTLES OF SARATOGA and other DVD programs reached homes and classrooms across the nation and around the globe.
He is developing OUT OF THIS LEAGUE a docu-series on America’s premiere independent baseball league, the reality show TRAGIC EMIRE centered around a serial-social enterpreneur, the feature documentary SCARED TO DEBT: America’s Student Loan Scam and original screenwriter on OFF THE MENU with other projects in various stages of development.
